Painting Process
Hey Look at me! I'm posting again and 2 months haven't gone by. This is so unlike me. I like it!
Last month I got a chance to do a Vampirella commission for Jon, he has an amazing collection of Vampirella art. I was really excited to do this piece since I've never drawn her before. Anyway, Jon had the coolest concept for the piece. He wanted Vampirella to be in the Miss Universe pageant. but, we're talking the REAL Miss Universe pageant with Alien beauties competing in a pageant. Of Course Vampi would win since she's hott stuff! Funny huh?
Here's the final piece
Step 1. Concept thumbnails.
Step 2. Pre sketch
Step 3. Re-work the Pre-sketch since some of the aliens looked alike.
Step 4. Transferred the sketch on the Nice watercolor paper.
Step 5. Added a Gouache Wash (I dare you to say that 5 times in a row as fast as you can) over the piece.
Step 6. Added some white paint and some color pencils to the aliens.
Step 7. Started painting Vampirella. I used acrylics, gouache and color pencil on her.
Step 8. Finally done! tweaked a few things and added the names on the sashes. (I wish my hand writting wasn't so horrible I think this would have looked a lot better if I had better lettering skills)![]()

Welp! I hope that gives you a glimpse into my painting process.
oh and 1 more thing: Guess who's Mom was in a Pageant?
