Back from the dead!

Thanks to Trev for that hilarious 28 Days Later photo-manip above. Ha!

Guess What? I'm back! Back for Good! I hope you haven't given up on me. I just needed a break from the ol' sketch-blog. Over that long long long period of time I was gone, I got a chance to make a sketchbook with 2 talented guys: Gary Ham and Scott Tolleson. You can buy our Book if you click that handy dandy paypal link to the right!

On with the art!

You know many people who used to come here will never be back, right? Unless they are your personal friends, or had subscribed to the RSS feed as I had done waaaay back then, before I thought you died!
Anyway, killer drawings, as usual. I love your stuff!

Guess what you inspired me to do? (and I'm doing it right now) No, besides searching for porn. I'm drawing my cartoons again! Look at me! Obviously you can't, but I drood on like 5 pages of my sketch-book! It's been ages since I last pooped out some toons. I still don't know whether I'll go beyond sketch phase & finish them. Does barf count as a medium?

PS: Bai Ling is Chinese for nip slip. That's what my last fortune cookie said anyway.

Welcome back to you! Thanks for another great post.

I'd post something on my own blog, but nice going, you've made me all intimidated!!
Here's a bunch of words while I get over your brilliance.

• The first drawing is great, exemplifying what makes your work so popular, I think. You follow few conventions, you just do what feels right... but at the same time there's great skill and care in what you make and put together. Her head is the shape of a football, her swimsuit appears to be made of 'pig skin'. She's a fan of the Miami Dolphins, maybe?? (Please say this aloud with an affectionate 'Jewwy inflection')

• For some reason, not long after viewing the third drawing, I went to Ralphs and stocked up on twenty pounds of artichoke. Anyway, she should be a recurring character, whoever she is.

• You'll notice a young woman in the fourth piece saying, "Uh, der" in a thoughtful and ponderous manner. Many know this poor creature from her earlier appearance on MySpace months ago. The real gem of this group is just below her, however. The bean-shaped head, the giant eyes... and what a mouth!! 'Only lines on paper' and all that, but she truly fascinates me. A+!

• Two women dance their way through Drawing Number Seven, unaware that they missed the gogo dancing boat by at least ten years. That's okay. Let them have their fun so we can have ours.
By the way, did you know that "Soul Train" is still on the air?

• I like every drawing in Drawing Number Eight. All three ladies appear to have something on their minds, but unfortunately there wasn't any room for thought balloons. Pity.

• A radical departure in Drawing Number Eleven, as two completely unrelated walks of life curse the heavens
while a dove dashes off for cover. By some strange coincidence, all three species shop at The Men's Wearhouse. I would like to see more work like this. I don't know what the hell's going on here, but it makes me laugh and that's reason enough.

• Drawing Number 13 reminds me of the film, "Boxing Helena", which I caught on cable several years ago and the next afternoon wished I hadn't. I think the drawing is better than Sherilyn Fenn, which is pretty good, because I'm pretty sure she's an actual human being, while the drawing is two dimensional and only made up of only one or two colors. But I maintain that I'd rather go to dinner with the drawing.

• A wonderful blonde with 'missile tits' and a stogie-smoking alien with an itchy ass dominate Drawing Number 16, but the tabby between the two deserves a second glance. It's quite a feat to come up with an orange feline that doesn't immediately bring to mind so many other insipid, dead-eyed 'cartoon' creations from decades past and big budget movies present. The hairdo, the crooked gap-toothed grin, and even the manner in which the stripes are applied results in something not just original, but extremely funny. And unlike Garfield, he doesn't need a fucking thought balloon.

• And in the final drawing, Kristen goes to the trouble of explicitly pointing out a couple of things she does best, just in case you hadn't noticed.

Ahh, dude!
This stuff is awesome.
Funny thing is, I know of you from the board for years now, but, for some reason, this is the first time I saw any of your work.
And it's awesome. And cool.
And you're cool!

Cheers to you, and your pencil, and your markers and the rest of the equipment you may have used or intend to use in the future to produce more of this nice stuff here.
Kind regards,

Milenko

i want 'percy sledge hair' to be an expession of coolness..
